Red Origin's Managed Firewall solution can provide you with secure, 24x7 management and monitoring of your firewall devices at a fraction of the cost of doing it yourself.

Red Origin recognizes that security needs differ greatly from one organization to another and that the security requirements of small business environments can vary greatly from large, multi-server or multi-office organizations. As such, Red Origin offers a number of different Managed Firewall packages which meet the needs of all organizations, small, medium, and large.

Our security experts will work with you to determine your security needs. We will configure and deploy your firewall for you. We will monitor and maintain your firewall on an on-going basis. We will provide you with monthly reports summarizing the intrusion attempts which were blocked by the firewall. We will make rule changes whenever you request them. We will do all of this for a low, monthly fee.

Red Origin's Managed Firewall service utilizes firewall devices from Cisco Systems or software from Kerio Technologies. Cisco's award-winning PIX firewalls deliver strong security and market-leading performance and Kerio WinRoute Firewall (current Version 6) is certified against ICSA Labs' 4.0 criteria for Corporate Firewall Certification.

Initial Setup and Configuration

Whether you are purchasing or renting the firewall from Red Origin, Red Origin will complete all hardware setup, installation, and configuration steps.

Red Origin's "Managed Firewall" service provides the following initial setup features -

A meeting between the customer and a Red Origin firewall technician at Red Origin's office. During the meeting, you and the Red Origin technician will perform a "needs analysis" to figure out what your firewall requirements are. The analysis will take into account your existing server/office environment and your future growth requirements.
If the customer already has a configured, working firewall, Red Origin will still meet with the customer to review the existing configuration. Red Origin may recommend changes and/or a PIX operating system upgrade to ensure the firewall can be properly supported by Red Origin or the installation and/or upgrade of a Kerio WinRoute Firewall.

During the meeting Red Origin and the customer will identify all inbound-traffic firewall rules required to provide external access to your internal servers. (by default, no inbound traffic is allowed)
During the meeting, Red Origin and the customer will identify whether any outbound-traffic restrictions are required (by default, no outbound traffic is blocked).
After the configuration and ruleset has been determined, Red Origin will configure and install the firewall within an agreed upon time period (usually two business days).

Ongoing Support

Once the firewall is installed and operational, Red Origin will provide ongoing maintenance, reporting, and incident response services for the duration of the support contract.
